The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator with a Certificate III qualification in Children’s Services.

As an educator you will bring with you a wealth of knowledge in early childhood and the ability to engage with children and families.

This position is a parental leave contract until June 2019 and will see you work in the preschool room Monday to Friday for 8 hours per day, accumulating a monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO). 

The Centre

The Joey Club Sydney is a work-based long day care program located in Mascot, near the Airport grounds and within walking distance to Mascot Station, and provides care and education for the children of Qantas employees. Our work with children is based on the belief that the early childhood years are of great significance in a young person’s life and is the foundation in fostering the natural dispositions of children to become a life-long learner. With a strong and experienced Director you will be joining a team of highly motivated educators who value working in the early childhood sector.

This is a centre that has been assessed by the NSW Department of Education and Training under the National Quality Standards, and are proud to be rated as Exceeding in all aspects of the National Quality Standard. 

The impact you'll have

  • work as a member of a co-operative team in order to provide an appropriate educational program for the children within her/his care.
  • ensure that up to date records are maintained for each child under that persons care.
  • ensure that the policies of KU and the funding authorities are implemented in providing appropriate care and educational programs for children.

What we're looking for

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition you will have:

  • A current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • Recognised Certificate III in Children’s Services or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law(2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
