Firefly Education, located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, is one of Australia’s leading providers of quality educational resources.

We are looking for an exceptional teacher / educator to join a talented writing team to deliver our new blended maths teaching and learning resource for Years 3–6. 

Key responsibilities for this role are:

• planning the maths scope and sequence for Years 3–6
• writing teaching content to match curriculum descriptors
• developing questions for students to practise and assess maths concepts
• crafting problem solving and reasoning tasks to address higher order thinking skills
• ensuring content meets practical classroom needs as well as sound pedagogy
• producing work according to set project milestones, under the supervision of the Project Manager
• collaborating with editorial and digital services teams to ensure the content suits the blended format
• consulting as a subject matter expert for Years 3–6 maths to all departments involved in the project, including editorial, design, programming and marketing

You must have:

• a deep understanding of and passion for teaching maths 
• Year 3, 4, 5 or 6 maths classroom teaching experience 
• working knowledge of the Year 3, 4, 5 or 6 maths curriculum
• the ability to work as a team with other subject matter experts
• excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
• enthusiasm for digital delivery in the classroom 

Experience in the following would be a bonus:

• curriculum planning leadership 
• commercial content writing
