About the Role

YMCA WA is currently seeking a full time Qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team in Bridgetown Early Learning Centre. Your passion and enthusiasm will see you lead a classroom by effectively engaging with educators, families and children to implement the educational program.

YMCA Bridgetown Early Learning Centre is a service where the staff provide natural learning environments for children. The children learn through exploratory play and learning experiences which reflect the importance of early childhood and all learning areas. Bridgetown is a small centre with many spaces for children to play safely and securely

Duties

  • Support and guide staff to enact the YMCA Approach to Learning
  • Develop and implement a program that meets the needs of individual children and reflects children’s interest, development, culture and the YMCA’s Approach to Learning
  • Responsible for the management of a group of children
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of child-care related legal issues and referral services
  • Understand and uphold the National Education and Care Services Regulations 2012, National Quality Framework principles and YMCA policies and procedures

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Early Childhood Teaching /Early Childhood/children’s services as approved by ACECQA
  • Completion of 50% of qualification and actively working towards an approved early childhood teaching qualification is also acceptable
  • HLTAID004 First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Current and valid National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
  • Certified Supervisor Certificate and approved teachers registration or willingness to obtain one
  • Ability to lead a classroom environment
