THE CENTRE

Welcome to Tadpoles Cashmere, located just 40 minutes drive from the beautiful D’Aguilar Mountain Range! Our centre caters for up to 119 children and is managed by our remarkable and highly committed team of educators who would love to meet you! At Tadpoles Cashmere, we believe that education should incorporate an equal balance of play as well as learning, that is why we utilise the Lifelong Learning Approach. THE ROLE

As Assisting Educator, you will help with the preparation, implementation and evaluation of educational programs designed to bring out the children's best. You will work with children individually and in groups, and support the Lead Educator in completing daily observations for program planning purposes. You will also help to create a caring, secure and active learning environment.

We expect you will have:

  • experience caring for children of all ages, while respecting any cultural, socio-economic or other differences and giving consideration to individual interests, special needs and aptitudes
  • the skills to gather and document detailed information about the children, and to develop an accurate developmental profile for each child
  • the ability to contribute to a smoothly operating and continuously improving centre, one where children feel safe and stimulated to learn and families feel welcome and informed of their child's development
  • a proven capability to meet relevant regulations and standards
  • a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
  • experience in an early childhood setting or in a similar role
  • a Certificate III in Children's Services or study towards an approved early childhood education diploma qualification
  • a current Working with Children Check or equivalent, current driver's licence, first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate.

 

As Lead Educator, you will design, implement and evaluate educational programs for individuals and groups of children that inspire them to investigate, create and explore. You will also support your team of educators in their implementation of these programs, contributing to their effective work practices and assisting them to make adaptations to meet the developmental needs of all children.

We expect you will have:

  • the ability to lead a team of educators, motivating them to perform at their best
  • the skills to create a friendly, caring, stimulating and active learning environment
  • the ability to discuss programs, children's needs, changes in routine and developmental challenges with children's parents
  • the skills to drive continuous improvement in the service, and in the children
  • experience managing daily care routines and associated administrative and compliance tasks
  • experience maintaining health and safety and hygiene standards, and ensuring all risks are minimised
  • a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
  • a Diploma in Children's Services or similar early childhood qualification
  • a current Working with Children Check or equivalent, current driver's licence, first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate.
