Position Information

Beecroft Public School is located in the Macquarie Park education precinct with a student population of 852, including 57% who have English as an additional language or dialect. The school has a proud record of high academic achievement across all Key Learning Areas. The school has two opportunity classes for gifted students.

High quality curriculum provision, differentiation in literacy and numeracy underpinned by formative assessment practices are key drivers of school growth. The school continues to deliver a balanced education with opportunities in performing and creative arts, debating, chess and sport, including PSSA (Primary Schools Sports Association).

Parents and the community are actively involved in our students’ education, support school programs and are proud of the school’s achievements. The P&C operates a wide variety of additional services to the students and community, including the Arts and Crafts, Band and Strings' programs, the canteen, school banking, uniform shop and the greening group.

Selection Criteria

1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with evidence of exemplary teaching practice and extensive curriculum knowledge.

2. Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead staff in rigorous professional learning through ongoing data analysis of student achievement that informs and drives teaching practice and results in improved student outcomes.

3. Evidence of exemplary communication and administrative skills and proven capacity to develop, lead and manage complex school systems, policies and procedures.

4. Demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance positive student, staff, parent and community wellbeing.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
