Assistant Centre Director
Platypus Junction Croydon is family owned and operated, since 1995.
Our purpose built early learning and Kindergarten in Croydon, has been designed to trigger imagination and engage curious minds to support the development of babies through to 4-year-old Kindergarten. Platypus Junction Croydon is across two levels including seven separate age grouped rooms with outdoor access on ground level to our delightful botanical playground with fabulous spaces for active exploration and play.
This position has been created due to career progression of our current centre management team. As a result we are eagerly looking for an Assistant Centre Director to join our leadership team in a full time capacity. Our fabulous Centre Director will be able to support you from the get go in sharing the friendly Platypus Junction culture and philosophy.
Supporting the Centre Director, this role will be a leadership position where the ideal candidate has the ability to influence and guide educators within the centre as well as the service as a whole. You will be familiar and show a high level of understanding of the NQS and EYLF, working in collaboration with the Centre Director to ensure high quality education and care is provided to all children.
Essential criteria
- Must hold at least a Diploma in children’s services (or ACECQA assessed equivalent)
- Experience in leadership within the early years or similar
- Knowledge of the National Law Act and Regulations, practiced in Victoria
- Full time 38 hours per week – consisting of open and closing shifts
- First Aid
- Victorian WWCC
Your role
- Responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director's absence
- Build strong relationships with our children, families and community
- Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care
- A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within designated time frames
- Ensuring the business is compliant with Federal, State Government and Work Cover regulations.
- Providing strong family communication with excellent customer service
- Support the ongoing development and application of Platypus Junction vision and values
