Role
We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated and confident Plant Manager to join our leadership team at Austral Precast® in Wetherill Park. Reporting to the State Manager Austral Precast NSW, you will be responsible for directing the activities of the plant to maximise operational efficiency, optimise the use of resources, minimise costs and maintain safety and quality.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Lead a team of production, maintenance and quality assurance employees to deliver results;
• Translate organisational short and long-term objectives into a plan for managing the plant;
• Drive a culture of safety, quality and operational excellence;
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve WH&S performance of the business;
• Determine plant requirements to achieve the plan and longer term capacity and capability;
• Develop and controls capital expenditure budgets;
• Develop production and preventative maintenance schedules, raw material requirements systems infrastructure and inventory levels;
• Investigate and implement improvements to processes, productivity, quality and cost control;
• Produce products efficiently and to required quality in accordance with production plan;
• Review production schedules with the Production Supervisor on a daily basis;
• Identify and implement supply chain and warehousing efficiencies;
• Oversee implementation of Operational Excellence initiatives including maintaining a high level of housekeeping in the plant;
• Overall responsibility and compliance to the Brickworks OHS Management System; and
• Continually implement lean manufacturing principles including leading and training of staff.

Success Requirements
• Proven experience in successfully managing a manufacturing site or related processes.
• Absolute commitment to WH&S and quality management.
• Demonstrated people leadership skills.
• Bachelor of Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in similar role.
• Strong time management, administration and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks with varying levels of priority.
• Experience in lean manufacturing principles.
