About the role
The QA Officer will assist in monitoring and verifying the food safety, quality and legality of products manufactured on site to agreed quality specifications and standards and delivery of agreed departmental plans as determined by the Quality Manager.
The QA Officer will maintain a robust system of documentation for all activities from incoming raw materials through to finished product dispatch to maintain traceability and show conformance to specification at all stages and corrective action where necessary. You will ensure food safety standards through HACCP processes.
The QA Officer will assist and participate in NPD and other projects work as required and directed by Quality Manager.
Skills and Experience
Ability to effectively deal with and communicate with people and to communicate behavioral expectations to floor staff, be assertive when required
- Experience in Food Industry, FMCG, GMP and Quality Management Systems
- HACCP trained
- Computer applications - e.g. Microsoft (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Databases.
- Interpersonal Skills - Integrity, Professionalism, Initiative, Dependability, Reliability.

Duties and resposibilities
Quality Control and HACCP
- Collect and collate production records & perform online checks as per required frequency
- QA sample checks and Finished goods inspection
- Conduct daily equipment verification and assist in maintaining calibration schedule as per required frequency.
- Attend to metal detectors and check weighers when issues arise and determine action
- Check stock rotations and allergen storage
- Supervise and sign off on product startups, and line clearances
- Conduct incoming goods QC checks as per schedule e.g. temperature monitoring of chilled goods, visual inspection & condition checks etc
