What You Will Do

Reporting to the Horn Island (HID) Base Supervisor, you will play a key role in driving an exceptional professional customer experience and providing operational and administrative support to the HID Base Supervisor. Your role will typically see you:

  • Overseeing and performing the duties within the Customer Service Officer and Aircraft Loader positions including the check-in of RPT and Charter passengers, aircraft marshalling and performing hot turn arounds at outer ports
  • Assisting the Base Supervisor in rostering Aircraft Loaders and Customer Service Officers
  • Implementing customer focused solutions in line with internal and external policies and procedures
  • Providing assistance with schedule changes and disrupt management alongside the commercial team
  • Providing on-the-job training to new recruits

What You Can Expect

Based on Horn Island, the role is offered on a casual basis, working Monday to Friday, 1pm to 6pm with the possibility of becoming permanent part time and the potential to work a rotating ‘on-call’ weekend roster.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Previous aviation experience or experience working in a customer service role
  • Experience and proven ability to positively lead a team
  • Sound computer literacy particularly in the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence as well as work as an integral member of a team
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and develop compliant customer focused solutions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or the ability to obtain
  • Current Dangerous Goods Certificate or the ability to obtain
  • Ability to pass random and routine drug and alcohol screening for employment purposes

You must be eligible to live and work in Australia as either a citizen or hold the appropriate visa
