What we need

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager that is a self-starter with a commercial and entrepreneurial spirit .  Based in our Greystanes office, this newly created role will lead the procurement team and  drive improvements that will enhance Vendor relationships whilst driving down the cost of doing business.

This is a varied and challenging role where you will:

• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
• Work with Vendors to drive change and deliver improvements around product delivery, timing, volumes, and pricing
• Introduce performance improvement measures for Vendors to ensure an optimum and timely supply of products.
• Negotiate with new and existing Vendors to close deals with optimal terms
• Work with the planning team to provide forecasts to top tier Vendors for high movement products
• Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholder to drive results and ensure continuous improvement regarding the quality, timing, cost and delivery of orders
• Track and report on key functional metrics to make informed decisions to reduce costs and increase efficiencies

What you’ll bring

• A natural leader with a minimum 5 years purchasing experience with fierce negotiation skills
• Passionate, results driven self-starter with a very 'hands on' approach.
• SAP user with a minimum of 2 years experience
• MS Office skills, with advanced Excel knowledge
• Qlikview reporting experience
• Logistics and/or manufacturing background (an advantage)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain good relationship with vendors, management and be able to lead a team.
