Reporting to the National WHSE Manager, you will be responsible for WHSE across a large portfolio of sites in Australia. This role has a strong emphasis on the environmental side of WHSE and would suit someone with a strong environmental background.

Client Details

My client is a highly dynamic and fast paced FMCG manufacturer, and is seeking a National WHSE Advisor, with an environmental focus, to look after their sites nationally. This role will be Sydney based, but may involve some interstate travel.

Description

Reporting to the National WHSE Manager, the Advisor will be responsible for a large portfolio of sites across Australia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the implementation of the EHS Management System, including reporting and record keeping and ensure timely submission of mandatory reports to regulatory agencies
  • Managing compliance with environmental health and safety regulations, including EPA regulations.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, safety inspections and risk assessments as required
  • Working with key stakeholders within the Group to set the long term WHSE strategy for the organisation
  • Identifying training gaps in relation to the EHS system and arranging various training programs across the sites
  • Supporting the sites in relation to investigation investigations and near miss reporting

Profile

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Safety or Environmental discipline
  • Previous experience in a similar EHS role, preferably within a manufacturing industry
  • Possess strong communication, training, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of OHS and Environmental legislation and standards, particular in manufacturing and high risk industries
