We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Officer  to join our team based here in Kilsyth.

We are seeking a Purchasing Officer to conduct procurement activities and align with other manufacturing plants, notably UK and USA.

The incumbent will report directly to the Business Unit Purchasing Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:

·       To conduct contract negotiations with regards to purchasing of supplies and materials to meet the company's requirements.
·       Investigate and obtain cost reduction through negotiation, partnership sourcing, vertical integration, etc.
·       Generate purchase orders as required and maintain purchasing records.
·       Work closely with other functional areas to ensure timely feedback on delivery to MRP requirements.

Selection Criteria:

·       May hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering, or alternately a strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and metal industries through 5+ years of direct involvement with manufacturing/engineering operations.
·       Procurement experience 5 to 10 years.
·       Can read technical drawings
·       Has an ability to manage projects on a timely and cost effective basis to meet these goals / objectives of projects set.
·       Has good communication skills, with an ability to work with and influence a wide range of people throughout all levels of the business.
·       Has a working knowledge of business systems, ideally including SAP, and manufacturing processes.
