Reporting directly to our Executive General Manager Planning and Delivery, the Airport Planner will coordinate the development of comprehensive plans for the use of land and physical facilities of Hobart Airport. They will develop planning solutions that balance traffic growth, evolving airline strategy and commercial demands with changing regulatory policy, land use and environmental requirements. A key outcome of the role is the development of Hobart Airports Master Plan.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to listen and share ideas

Qualifications / Experience

  • Undergraduate degree or qualification in Aviation related subject/Engineering and/or Project Management
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in aviation planning
  • AutoCAD skills beneficial (or familiarity with similar electronic planning tools)
  • Experience in strategic planning
  • Detailed understanding and awareness of relevant regulation and legislation (i.e. ICAO Annex 14, MOS 139, IATA ADRM)
  • Analytical problem solving approach that uses research, insights and data to inform decision making
  • Current drivers licence and ASIC eligibility
