As an independent and family-owned business with more than 140 years of experience in shipbuilding, Lürssen is relied upon to build, deliver and maintain naval vessels. Lürssen’s only obligations are to their customers and to the top performance of their products. Lürssen build every type of high-quality surface naval vessels for the German Navy and now for the Australian Navy with the construction of the Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).
We are working in conjunction with Lüerssen Australia for the recruitment of personnel for the OPV project that is currently underway. As a result, we currently have a position available for an ILS Operations Co-ordinator working on Defence contracts which will be based in Adelaide (South Australia).
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage subcontractor data as per SDRL;
- Implement required tasks to ensure on time deliveries from subcontractors;
- Implement directions and instructions from the ILS Manager;
- Maintain deliverables, ensure and organize required updates regarding technical data, coordinate and plan meetings & workgroups;
- Advise logistic- and technical staff on ILS matters in accordance with organisational objectives;
- Develop and implement ILS processes and activities as identified by relevant plans;
- Provide interpretation of Commonwealth requirements and expectations on a non-authoritative basis;
- Participate in ILS related meetings, reviews and workshops; and
- Contribute to the identification and management of risks in accordance with the risk management plan
Profile:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as program manager of defence contracts/ programs
- Experience in developing high performance teams
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and good attention to detail
- Ability to handle escalated complaints and build contract related relationships
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of work force management functions
Desirable:
- Experience in working during project start up phases
- Experience in the naval industry
- Knowledge of the German Language
