Inchcape Shipping Services is a major Australian & International Ship Agency company. We require the services of a suitable person for this operational and administrative position. The role is to provide support as directed, and in accordance with principal requirements, government legislation and regulations, port rules & ISS procedures and policies.
Reporting to the Port Manager, this trainee role will assist & support many areas of operational excellence ensuring the delivery of all port information and inquiries to customers is of the highest standard. Customer/Vendor relationships need to be maintained. This is not a normal 9 to 5 role, it requires working flexible hours that include weekends and evening work. Some of the duties include:
- Actioning port/principal requisitions in a timely manner
- Port information and support
- System data updates
- Pro-forma prefunding requests
- Monthly reporting of commodities and market intelligence
- Vessel boarding - KM Allowance paid for travelling
Key skills required:
- 1-3 years experience in shipping Agency/port agency
- Previous Cruise industry experience would be an advantage
- High attention to detail
- Data entry/collection and analysis
- Excellent computer skills in MS Windows, outlook, word
- Advanced excel would be an advantage
- Accurate and speedy data entry
- Excellent written and spoken English capabilities a must
