In this role you will be responsible for moving many of Boral’s various building / construction products around Metro and Country Victoria, with a large sub-contractor fleet, to meet customer needs at the lowest possible cost. Based in our regional office in Port Melbourne and will be working in a dynamic Supply Chain team responsible for Boral’s Southern Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a small, highly critical team, you will be overseeing all day-to-day transport activities (Planning & scheduling of all deliveries);
  • Liaise with customers and service teams to ensure all information is communicated regularly and effectively;
  • Ensure that legislative requirements are met and that relevant paperwork is completed each day. These requirements include safety, driving hours, chain of responsibility etc;
  • Manage truck utilisation, safety and all other transport related matters;
  • Oversee the allocations function, to ensure that materials are allocated and supplied in the most efficient and cost effective manner;
  • Ensure that all training and induction activities are carried out and that the relevant records are in place;
  • Ensure all new customer delivery sites are accredited prior to first deliveries to ensure that the plant and equipment meets the minimum requirements for the fail-safe delivery;
  • Promote direct engagement with employees and a sound participative ‘shop floor’ workplace culture within all workplaces in the business;
  • Manage and plan operational resource requirements as directed by one up manager;
  • Strive for Zero Harm in the workplace whilst maintaining a positive safety culture.
