About the role:
Aurizon is seeking a motivated and experienced Freight Operator Level 5 to join our Townsville depot. Reporting to the Logistics Leader, you will be responsible for providing leadership to Freight Operators, Plan and Schedule operating a Heavy Combination Truck (HC) and Forklifts.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff to help achieve business objectives by Coordinating and promoting quality team development, Monitoring and improving work performance standards and providing feedback to staff.
- Ensure the provision of a high quality customer service by creating and maintaining customer relationships and monitoring customer trading figures on a monthly basis.
- Ensure that continuous improvement measures are adhered to
- Maintain an effective and efficient logistics chain by maximising the return on assets (i.e. full utilisation of equipment and staff), Daily load planning, Monitoring of freight clearance; on time delivery performance (Difot), Manage and develop effective load planning procedures in conjunction with T/C's and Operations Supervisor, providing customers with a total solution to suit their needs, Undertake any other reasonable duties and tasks as requested by management.
About You:
- Strong commitment to safety
- Hold and maintain a valid C Class Drivers Licence
- Hold and maintain a valid HR licence (HC Licence preferred)
- Hold and maintain a valid Forklift ticket (16 Tonne)
- Excellent customer service skills
