A new opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Manager to join the Supply Chain Team based at Derrimut. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the ordering/supply process across all portfolios within the Comcater business.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead and oversee the purchasing team.
- Ensure that goods, materials and services are ordered in accordance with specific requirements, to quantity and price, on the due date.
- Ensure products are continuously available to fulfill sales and marketing requirements.
- Identify and prioritise cost reduction opportunities, eg. bulk purchases, consolidation.
- Effectively manage supplier relationships by maintaining ongoing contacts.
- Approve orders with suppliers.
- Expedite supply arrangements to ensure timely and cost effective delivery.
- Monitor and maintain expected delivery dates and delivery performance of all suppliers.
- Maintain purchase orders and systems to reflect latest information, eg delivery dates, pricing.
- Develop a good understanding of company operating systems and identify and improve purchasing systems and procedures.
- In conjunction with the Operations Manager, monitor stock holdings by product to maximise stock turns whilst minimising stock shortages.
- Liaise with customs brokers to ensure correct duty classifications and rates to imported products.
- Perform other duties as requested by the CFO.
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive purchasing experience.
- People management and team leadership skills and experience.
- May have tertiary qualification in a purchasing/logistics or business related discipline.
- Excellent communication, organisation and planning skills.
- Problem solving and fault finding skills.
- High attention to detail.
- High level computer skills and technical ability.
