As an independent and family-owned business with more than 140 years of experience in shipbuilding, Lürssen is relied upon to build, deliver and maintain naval vessels. Lürssen’s only obligations are to their customers and to the top performance of their products. Lürssen build every type of high-quality surface naval vessels for the German Navy and now for the Australian Navy with the construction of the Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).

We are working in conjunction with Lürssen for the recruitment of personnel for the OPV project that is currently underway. As a result, we currently have a position available for a ILS Discipline Specialist working on Defence contracts which will be based in Adelaide (South Australia).

To be successful for this role you will have many years of experience in Integrated Logistics Services processes and in turn will be responsible for assisting in project/program tasks related to specific Integrated Logistics Services elements, provide Integrated Logistics Services input to project/program plans and deliverables, perform duties and responsibilities as a member or functional expert on process improvement teams and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), assess and evaluate maintenance and supply support data from both internal (contractor) and external (subcontractor, customer) sources, organize and oversee required data transfer between the Logistic, Engineering, Training and Publication disciplines.

On top of the listed requirements you will also work with the Integrated Logistics Services Logistic Engineer and the Integrated Logistics Services Team to ensure a holistic approach to support and assessment.  Skills in supporting the development, review and maintenance of various project Integrated Logistics Services analyses, such as:

  • Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Task Analysis
  • Logistic Support Analyses
  • Spares and Support & Test Equipment analysis

Profile:

  • Proven Integrated Logistics Services Analyst experience (ideally over 4 years of experience in this role or in Integrated Logistics Services)
  • Proven use of logistics analysis tools and systems
  • Proven experience with Integrated Logistics Services processes and Logistic Support Analysis (LSA)
  • Proven skills to extract relevant logistics information from engineering drawings and technical data
  • Proven skills in statistical analysis of data to identify trends or issues
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

  • Proven knowledge of spare part analysis and modelling to identify requirements for spares and repair parts by using Opus 10
  • Experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) publications (e.g. S1000D)
  • Experience with ACEIT (life cycle costing analysis tool)
  • Experience with database use or development to collect and analyse fielded equipment information
  • Experience in the naval industry
  • Knowledge of the German Language
