Our client is a well known and respected environmentally conscious manufacturer and supplier of quality PVC pipe, PE pipe and PP pipe systems and solutions for the transportation of fluid, data and energy.

Established since 1960, they offer unrivalled industry knowledge and experience to a broad range of applications including plumbing, water supply, waste management, stormwater and drainage, mining, industrial, rural, irrigation, electrical, telecommunications and gas.

Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking experienced Extruder Operators to join their team located in Sunshine.

This is a role that starts on a casual basis however you will be working full time hours. For the right candidate, it is merely a stepping stone to the career you always wanted and there will be an opportunity to go onto a full time position with the company.

Purpose of position

• Produce pipes that are within the required physical specification. Run the extruder and down-stream equipment to established condition and ensure pipe is packed to required standards and specifications
• Manufacture PVC and PE pipes efficiently, safely and at minimum cost, whilst maintaining high levels of quality and meeting customer requirements

Competencies and Skills

• Current forklift licence
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Effective problem solving skills
• Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts ( Morning & Night shift)
• Strong focus on safety
• Effective communication skills
• Effective time management and organisational skills
• Ability to adapt to change
• Lift and manipulate product without mechanical aid
• Strapping pipe packs
• Team Player
