Wettenhalls is a privately owned logistics company which operates a national fleet of 155 prime movers and 310 trailing items. We operate a mix of company owned maintenance facilities as well as some outsourced activities.

Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a hard working team player with demonstrated transport operational and planning experience to join the growing Construction Services operation in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. This large operation utilising around 100 trailers daily, transports products such as precast concrete panels, metal, cranes and concrete railway sleepers across Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination of all loading / unloading of company and subcontractor vehicles in an efficient manner
  • Scheduling and positioning of company trailing equipment
  • Customer bookings and service support
  • Ensure effective communication across drivers and customers
  • Review, sign off and data entry of driver run sheets
  • Maintain a safe working environment in line with road compliance laws, workplace legislation and company safety policies
  • Miscellaneous on site tasks as directed

Skills / Core Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of Melbourne and surrounding areas and heavy vehicle route restrictions
  • Knowledge of Mass / Vehicle load limits
  • Strong commitment to Safety and demonstrated positive safety leadership
  • Intermediate computer and data entry skills
  • Forklift licence essential
  • HC truck licence would be an advantage
  • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work autonomously or within a team environment
  • Comprehensive fleet allocation and load planning skills
  • Professional manner in dealing with customers
  • A good work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
  • Pro-active communication
  • Experience dealing with the construction industry will be advantageous

The role may also require weekend availability on a rotating basis.
