About the Role:

A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Purchasing professional to join our Primo Purchasing Team. This role is responsible for Purchasing and Inventory Management across Packaging and Ingredients categories, ensuring company production of existing and new product development requirements are achieved.

Reporting to the Primo National Purchasing Manager, this role requires high levels of initiative, strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a dynamic environment with diverse teams to deliver results. Your passion for Purchasing, coupled with a continuous improvement mindset and determination to make a difference will position you well.

Responsibilities

  • Ordering stock daily from suppliers generating & reviewing purchase orders with ETA’s to coincide with production and warehouse needs
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and investigating order discrepancies and problem solving
  • Managing out of stock situations effectively & Investigate  alternatives to maximise efficiency as required
  • Liaise with external suppliers in regards to any quality control issues and continuously monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance.
  • Follow up any outstanding claims or credits on suppliers so that they are resolved as soon as possible.
  • Regularly review stock levels in the Packaging and Dry Goods Stores to maximise business efficiency.

Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years’ purchasing experience, including supply chain, inventory and administration with high volume.
  • A qualification in Procurement and/or Supply Chain would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skill
  • Previous experience in the following computer systems is essential Excel, Word & SAP
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and be able to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously; and the ability to interface with all levels of management

  • Able to work on own initiative and as a team player
  • Good organizational skills with cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Good judgment and problem solving ability & is capable of understanding the impact of decision making on the business.
