An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Shift Supervisor in our plastics plant who possesses good interpersonal and communication skills and can confidently work under minimal guidance.
The Role
The Shift Supervisor will be a member of an efficient and productive manufacturing team, which ensures outcomes are achieved in the most timely and cost effective manner.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a solid extrusion and plastics background in recycling, compounding, masterbatch or milling powders and have previously supervised a team with a view to supporting the Production Manager in developing and improving operational results.
The role is for set shifts working a standard 38 hour week.
Responsibilities Include:
- Direct and coordinate activities of shift employees so as to manufacture product to planned schedules at the specified quality
- Ensure safe work practices are maintained and developed.
- Ensure plant and machinery is operated to stated procedures and standards.
- Develop an environment which best utilises resources and allows staff and self to achieve personal growth and satisfaction within the company structure
- Input into the continuous development of systems & procedures
- Play an active role in progressing the organisation for the future.
- Ensure plant is maintained at the highest agreed standard.
- Ensure employees adhere to Company Policies, Procedures, Ethics
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are adhered to

- Good organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to train and develop a team
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Share in the responsibility of the overall work site.
- Participate in relevant training development and skills progression for self.
- Process control with particular emphasis on reduction of waste and maximising output.
- Must have a "can do" attitude with flexibility
