An opportunity has arisen for a Shift Manager to join the production team in Preston. Reporting to the Production Manager, this is a rare opportunity to build a career with Huhtamaki. The applicable roster is rotating 8 hrs including weekends.
The successful candidate will be required to empower and motivate their team into achieving set goals via performance. A focus and commitment to Health and Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement are also key fundamentals of this role, as is your demonstrated ability to measure production and meet required KPI's.
As Shift Manager, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Managing crew labour planning to satisfy production schedules and plans
- Supervising and motivating crew personnel to conform with processes and procedures and deliver production and quality performance objectives
- Implementing improvements for production processes to improve productivity, on-time delivery, quality and reduce cost, delivery time and stock.
- Responsibility for driving OH&S and leading teams.
- Ensuring that at all times your shift maintains a focus on customer service.
As a successful candidate, you will need to bring the following to the fore:
- Success in motivating teams and recognising/supporting leadership in others
- An ability to identify and execute process improvement
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ideally similar experience in a similar production/manufacturing environment or a leadership role in the community which requires similar skills.
A positive approach, ability to achieve customer-focused results along with enthusiasm top the list of requirements!
