Silk Contract Logistics, a national warehousing & logistics business, has a position available for an experienced Wharf Cartage Allocator to work from our Brisbane site in QLD reporting directly to the Transport Manager

Your role will include, but not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Ensuring daily business and client requirements are met
• Operating transport systems
• Supervising drivers both company and sub-contractor
• Communicating professionally with clients and other stake holders in the supply chain
• Identify opportunities for financial performance improvements
• 1-Stop Wharf Timeslot bookings
• Coordinate FCL movements of import/export containers to/from depot & customer premises
• Liaise with Stevedores, Container Parks and Transport providers
• Maintain transport KPI’s - able to analyse and report on weekly/monthly transport results
• Ensure operations are conducted in compliance with Chain of Responsibility & the ADG Code
• Transport administration related tasks
• Adhoc office duties as required
• General customer service requirements

  Skills & Experience required:

• Solid understanding and experience in the Wharf Cartage Industry
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, 1-stop and Maximas experience an advantage
• Minimum 2 years fleet allocation experience
• A good working knowledge of metro road networks and suburbs
• Attention to detail essential
• Previous experience in a role dealing directly with customers
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Must be able to work flexible hours
