The role
We currently have an opportunity for a Fleet Manager to join the team at our Kewdale distribution centre (DC). Reporting to the State Transport Manager your primary focus will be to manage the fleet and equipment maintenance program.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- excellent knowledge of equipment and fleet management practices
- extensive road transport industry experience
- excellent knowledge of transport industry trends in relation to equipment
- understanding of business unit objectives and deliverables
- sound knowledge of Federal and State regulatory requirements regarding heavy vehicle equipment maintenance management standards
- relevant degree, diploma or tertiary education in equipment design and maintenance ( or equivalent industry experience )
- advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- ability to effectively work across multiple sites
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- ensure the timely servicing, washing and tyre maintenance of both Line Haul and PUD Equipment
- accountable for the presentation of trailing equipment which includes restraint equipment, gate and curtain functionality
- manage equipment availability during periods of unplanned equipment shortage, including MVA’s and refurbishments
- responsible for the washing process ensuring maximum productivity and compliance to company standards
- oversee the performance of Carrier accident / damage investigations
- accountability for the maintenance budget and spend
- manage performance of authorised maintenance service providers
- engage with DC teams on equipment specifications and requirements
