The role: We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Controller to join one of Toll’s divisions located in Villawood. You will be responsible for managing and executing the daily delivery schedule for a fleet vehicles and drivers, ensuring a high level of customer service is achieved along with the necessary legislative requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Allocation of the fleet in the most cost effective manner
• Coordinate the routing of loads to maximise the efficient use of equipment, subcontractors and labour

• Ensure driver work schedules are in accordance with fatigue management regulations
• Meet the timely constraints of day to day requirements for pick-ups and deliveries
• Co-ordinate driver and sub - contractor leave in conjunction with the manager

• Sound knowledge of the site EBA and Sub-contractor agreements

• Provide planners with regular updates that may affect client delivery times in a timely manner
• Ensure that drivers are processed in a timely manner

Requirements

• Must have minimum 4 years Allocation experience
• Have a sound knowledge of rail or shipping industry
• Experience in load planning, routing and driving regulations
• Thorough understanding of the Dangerous Goods Act, Regulations and requirements
• Sound distribution and transport experience and skills with an ability to identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service problems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
