Reporting to the Project Manager, you will effectively coordinate the interface between the delivery and operations functions to efficiently and effectively plan track possessions and logistical requirements in accordance with the project delivery schedule, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

You will be responsible for negotiating and coordinating track access with key stakeholders, effective scheduling of resources including safe working rosters where necessary and assets including rakes for rail delivery, coordinating the supply of resources and devising and implementing contingency plans to ensure maximum opportunities for access, whilst maintaining minimal disruptions to operations. You will also be required to provide expert advice on the application of the different access arrangements and possession protection to delivery teams to undertake projects as well as ensuring budget constraints are set and not exceeded.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• a detailed understanding of train planning and possession planning in the rail or heavy haulage environment, and ability to mentor others in this function;
• extensive knowledge of Rail Safety Management, worksite protection and WHS principles with the ability to implement these principles and champion safe working;
• a strong customer service focus with excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills;
• highly developed verbal and written communication skills with solid report writing experience;
• driver's License Class C; and
• a strong safety focus and the ability to challenge the status quo;
