Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced permanent full time Strategy and Regulatory Specialist to join the Strategy and Transformation Group, based in Gladstone/Calliope.
The purpose of this position is to keep abreast of strategic policies, research and analysis impacting local government. Through this analysis and research, the role contributes to council strategy development and business innovation.
About you
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Policy (or related discipline).
- Experience in policy analysis across a diverse suite of content areas.
- Ability to influence policy and strategy development.
- Experience in qualitative research and statistical analysis.
- Experience developing professional presentations of complex results for client-facing reports.
- Superior problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
- Ability to grasp complex analytical concepts quickly and thoroughly.
- Ability to work with complex Excel templates including complex formulae, macros, algorithmic programming, pivot tables, super tables, etc.
- Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts.
- An ability to synthesise and present knowledge visually.
- Broad understanding of Local Government.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office suite (including PowerPoint).
