About the role

We are seeking a suitably qualified Business Project Manager to oversee StudyPerth's increasing number of complex projects, and ensure that they are efficiently and effectively scoped, planned, resourced, communicated, managed and completed.

The Business Project Manager will ensure the application of rigorous project management, procurement and quality assurance methodologies to all StudyPerth projects.

Many projects will require the procurement of professional services from third party suppliers; this will necessitate the preparation of tender documentation as well as the management and quality assurance of services contracts, and a partnership approach.

The successful candidate will have a CV that demonstrates at least five years' experience of successfully conceived, managed and executed business projects, ideally in the marketing and/or services sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Providing high-level professional management of a range of complex and sensitive projects.  Specifically:
  • leading project planning sessions, including scoping and objective-setting;
  • ensuring technical, capability and resource availability and allocation;
  • developing, maintaining and reviewing comprehensive project documentation and budgets;
  • co-ordinating staff and internal resources;
  • managing project progress, including resources and milestones;
  • managing relationships with suppliers, members, funding bodies and other stakeholders; and
  • conducting project review and producing detailed reports for the Executive Director and the Board.
  • Providing high-level professional management of procurement and quality assurance processes.  Specifically:
  • developing, maintain and review procurement policies and procedures that support StudyPerth strategy and objectives;
  • conducting appropriate research and consultation to produce concise and clear tender documentation;
  • overseeing the tender process to ensure transparent, objective outcomes consistent with StudyPerth objectives;
  • overseeing the development and agreement of appropriate contract documentation; and
  • developing and overseeing the application of appropriate quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Contributing expertise in best practice governance, evaluation, strategy, procurement, compliance, performance and quality assurance.
  • Undertaking research and analysis to assist the Executive Director in the provision of strategic advice to the StudyPerth Board on critical strategic matters.

Skills and experience

Essential 

  • At least five years' experience in the management of business projects, ideally in the marketing and/or services sectors.
  • Considerable experience and knowledge of project management methodology, ideally Agile.
  • A CV showing a history of successfully conceived, managed and executed business projects.
  • Significant success in the procurement and quality assurance of professional services.
  • Experience in researching, designing and executing successful tender processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and various project elements simultaneously.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, bordering on obsessive.
  • Exceptional professional integrity and personal ethics.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to build trust and effectively collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • The ability to communicate complex information in a clear manner for the target audience.
