Where you'll be working
You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within Health System Support Group (HSSG). HSSG is a unit of the Public Health System Support Division of the Health Administration Corporation to provide services to support the public health system in implementing Government targets and programs.
What you'll be doing
The Principal Adviser - Environmental Health Regulation (PA-EHR) leads the development and implementation of environmental health policy related to the Public Health Act 2010, the Public Health Regulation 2012 and other relevant legislation.
The PA-EHR provides high level technical and strategic policy advice on environmental health regulation issues, producing high-quality outcomes to protect and improve public health.
The PA-HER assists EHB to build capacity within the NSW Health Environmental Health Network

Selection Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant field, and an in-depth understanding of environmental health and public health legislation and the operation of that legislation.
- Experience and understanding of risk management approaches to public health issues.
- Ability to access and critically interpret scientific literature and to apply scientific knowledge to general environmental health issues.
- Experience in developing and drafting policies, guidelines, standards, codes of practices etc to protect public health
- Experience in the design and implementation of quality assurance processes e.g. for regulatory activities.
- Well-developed interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience in engaging and influencing key stakeholders and the community to achieve business outcomes
- Excellent organisational skills and experience in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise, multi task and always work with a flexible and professional approach.
