Stokes Safety - Essential Safety Measures Auditor
Stokes Safety has a position available for a full time Essential Safety Measures Consultant. This role will be required to work within the Essential Safety Measures team, and will be involved in all aspects of the business. This includes administration, auditing, business development, client relationships and importantly delivering a quality service in a timely manner to our clients.
Stokes Safety operates nationally with offices in Melbourne and Brisbane. This position is to be based in Sunbury and will require periodical interstate and regional travel.

Overview
Stokes Safety provides building owners, agents and property maintenance managers a service to ensure that the statutory obligations are met, with respect to the Victorian and National Essential Safety Measures Legislation. This is achieved through the auditing and inspection of preventive maintenance assets and records of buildings Essential Safety Measures (eg. fire hydrants, emergency lights, exits)
The successful applicant will undertake essential safety measures audits, passive fire inspections and ensure annual certification of buildings for which they are responsible.

Technical
· Have an understanding of the legislative requirements governing the requirements for Essential Safety Measures maintenance and compliance
· Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia
· Understanding of Fire Engineering Reports and how to read them
· Have an understanding of AS1851
Key Responsibilities
Inspections and Reports
· Carry out inspections of Essential Safety Measures including passive fire, paths of travel, exit doors, and annual lift shaft inspections, etc.
· Prepare site inspection reports and/or complete inspection records.
· Follow-up on contractors reporting and inspections carried out
· Other building compliance inspections as required
Document Audits
· Examine the maintenance documentation for the building or site including the maintenance manuals, inspection reports, log books and test certificates, to determine the appropriate level of performance and maintenance requirements is being achieved.
· Report back to the client on compliance.
The successful applicant will be required to successfully complete all relevant security and pre-employment checks.
