About this role
The Strategic Analysis and Investment Unit provides analytical tools and advice to support investment decisions for NSW Health. Two maternity leave positions for 12 months are available within the Unit. One position leads a team that uses research, analytics and economic frameworks to influence and inform policy in relation to investment decisions.  The second position manages key strategic projects for the Branch that support and inform service planning across NSW Health to inform capital investment decisions.

Where you'll be working
The Strategic Analysis and Investment Unit is one of four Units in the Health System Planning and Investment Branch at the NSW Ministry of Health.  The team works in collaboration with other Units within the Branch, Branches across the Ministry, Local Health Districts, Specialty Health Networks, NSW Health Pillar organisations and other Government Agencies to assess the impact of population, demographic, policy and technology changes on the future delivery of health care.

What you'll be doing
The Principal Policy Officer positions within the Strategic Analysis and Investment Unit develop best practice policies, programs, projects, and activities for the Ministry of Health, public health organisations, and related government agencies to support the achievement of NSW Health’s objectives in relation to service and capital planning to support system wide service planning and related investment. 
 
Principal Policy Officer – Economic Analysis and Strategy
The Principal Policy Officer – Economic Analysis and Strategy position is responsible for managing a small team to develop policies and advice using insights from data, research and economic frameworks in collaboration with other teams across NSW Health.

Principal Policy Officer – Special Projects
The Principal Policy Officer – Special Projects position manages key strategic projects for the Unit including all related documentation, vendor management and ensuring high quality deliverables that align with service planning principles are delivered on time and on budget.
