The Role:
Our client is an Australian bulk water infrastructure developer and manager.
They are a high electricity user, with costs of more than $30m on 200 GWh per annum to deliver water to its customers across Queensland.
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Development Manager to deliver on its Renewable Energy Development Strategy.
The Renewable Energy Development Strategy includes the development of solar generation facilities adjacent to assets with high electricity demand, and to utilise existing water infrastructure to develop small scale hydro generation
The engagement is for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
Key skills and experience:
• Previous experience in a Project Development Manager role in the electricity sector, delivering across the full project lifecycle
• Sound understanding of renewable energy technology - particularly solar PV, small scale hydro and pumped storage hydro
• Demonstrable experience evaluating project feasibility, developing financial models and the development of business cases to secure project approval and funding
• Familiarity with Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) and Large Generation Certificates (LGCs)
• Ability to evaluate and optimise generation facility size in response to varying objectives or constraints (i.e. maximising financial return, maximising kWh generated, limited land availability)
• Experience preparing tender documentation, tender evaluation and contract negotiation
• Strong stakeholder communications skills, experience engaging and influencing across a wide stakeholder base (Board and Executive Team, asset operators, technology installation contractors, network operators)
