Tronox is a fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. At our operations in Western Australia, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products including ilmenite, zircon, rutile and titanium dioxide pigment which are then exported to international markets. Our sites are part of the global operations of Tronox Limited, one of the world’s largest producers of titanium dioxide pigment, with a global customer base.

Our Cooljarloo mine site is located near Cataby, about 170km north of the CBD. Employees who drive-in, drive-out are accommodated in our camp facilities (brand new camp) located 10 km south of the operational site.

We are currently seeking a Maintainer (mechanical) to work in our Maintenance department.

The role’s primary duties include:

  • Provide a proactive approach to preventative maintenance at all times and when breakdowns do occur, ensure a high standard of workmanship is carried out;
  • Comply with Tronox Safety, Health, Environment requirements at all times, being proactive in reporting any non-compliance;
  • The role requires completion of all documentation as an integral element of the Tronox maintenance systems; and
  • Ensuring the reliability and integrity of plant and equipment by identifying, reporting and preventing recurrence of mechanical failures.

Preferred candidates will have:

  • A boilermaker based trade certificate or demonstrable background
  • Knowledge and experience in maintaining slurry pump systems in particular Warman pumps
  • The ability to weld with both stick and mig, preferably certified
  • A high motivation towards team work in a small shift team on a 12 hour, 7 on 7 off day/night roster
  • A willingness to work additional hours when required during peak demand such as shutdowns and DTMU movements
  • Previous experience with Process Plants, Pumps, Structural, Mechanical and Piping works within the mining industry
  • Experience in fault finding and repairs to hydraulic systems
