What's the opportunity?
We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Superintendent to join our collaborative environmental team in Central NSW, playing a key role in ensuring the environmental approvals process is completed and adhered to, monitoring compliance and providing technical support through to problem resolution. The role reports to the HSE Manager supporting the Environmental and Approvals Lead.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the environmental approvals process
- Identifying and interpreting applicable environmental regulations
- Performing inspections and tests to verify compliance
- Undertaking environmental activities on and off site to enable pre-construction to operational readiness
- Participating in developing corrective measures
- Developing procedures to assure continuing compliance with regulations and organisation standards
- Contributing to governmental reports and interfacing with external agencies
- Maintaining knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the organisation’s operations
- Supporting the Environmental Specialist
- Consulting with internal and external stakeholders in relation to environmental issues and approvals
- Working in collaboration with environmental consultancies and suppliers on environmental strategies
What can you bring to the role?
You will have tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, or equivalent and come with a wealth of experience in environmental science, ideally within mining and construction. You will have a solid understanding of the approval process within a mining environment and have strong interpersonal skills to facilitate working in a collaborative manner with the Environment Team, consultants, the local community and the wider Clean TeQ Sunrise business.
