Detail information about job Production Engineer. Terms and conditions vacancy

Santos is an Australian energy pioneer. We have safely and sustainably discovered, developed and delivered natural gas to the people of Australia and Asia for more than 60 years.

With origins in the Cooper Basin, Santos has one of the largest exploration and production acreages in Australia and extensive infrastructure. Our strategy is centred on five core, long-life natural gas and LNG assets. These assets support our aim to be a leading Australian domestic gas supplier and a major LNG exporter supplying clean energy to Asia. As an Australian owned and operated business, we work in partnership with local communities, governments and our business partners to make natural gas an affordable and reliable energy solution for all Australians.

Opportunities to make a difference have recently opened in the GLNG Production Engineering team. The production engineer roles are a chance for you to make a material impact to asset value through rapid turnaround projects. You will quickly broaden your skillset, executing activities that span from inflow monitoring and optimisation, to ALS optimisation, to surface infrastructure optimisation. You will also be involved in day to day risk identification and mitigation, plant performance and efficiency. Prospects to rotate across the Fairview, Roma, Scotia and Arcadia assets will ensure you'll always have a new challenge to conquer.

Reporting to the GLNG Production Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for optimising production from existing and new GLNG gas wells through daily monitoring, short term well remediation, opportunity identification and project execution. A partial field roster (3 weeks office / 2 weeks field / 1 week off) will ensure the right balance of vital on-site experience and office-based technical support.

  • Responsibilities include;
  • Minimising Production loss, adding capacity and improving production processes
  • Providing troubleshooting for ALS, subsurface equipment, surface equipment and plant.
  • Daily monitoring of field production to identify production shortfalls and provide recommendations for short term remedial actions.
  • Conducting field surveillance of wells, artificial lift systems and gathering systems.
  • Managing EHS risk and promote risk awareness amongst team members
  • Identifying and implementing agreed process improvements to improve equipment reliability and asset integrity assurance
  • Identifying and contributing to corrective actions commensurate with break-in procedures and processes
  • Undertaking engineering Risk Based Work Selection for site issues to determine appropriate level response

The successful applicant will have a relevant Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum), and have ideally demonstrated experience in either Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering and/or Drilling & Completions roles. You will have proven experience building strong working relationships and working collaboratively across the organisation. You will have a pragmatic approach, initiative and the ability to manage time frames with conflicting priorities.

If you are driven by implementing your ideas to optimise assets to drive gas production and fill LNG trains then turn your passion and energy into something real and make a difference to Santos’ future… today!

Applications must be submitted via the online recruitment system before COB Tuesday 24th July.
