About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Supervisor Field Maintenance to join our team at Goonyella Riverside on a day shift only, lifestyle roster. Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Field, you will be responsible for the effective supervision of a diverse team of tradespersons responsible for safely executing planned and corrective maintenance work.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, dynamic leader who has a strong commitment to preventive maintenance processes and the confidence to involve their people in all elements of the job. Demonstrated interpersonal skills are necessary to be an effective leader of a broadly skilled team and strong commitment to achieving "Zero Harm" is essential to your success in this position.

In this role you will:

• Oversee, direct and coordinate preventative maintenance activities in a safe and efficient & effective manner

• Manage and lead a team of employees and subcontractors

• Manage maintenance activities through site systems and processes

• Actively participate in the planning and materials control processes and maintenance improvement initiatives

• Comply with all standard procedures, legislation and regulations

• Monitor maintenance budgets and involvement in their preparation

About you

• Front line leadership experience in open cut coal mining

• Mechanical or Diesel Fitting Trade qualification

• Experience working with Liebherr and Caterpillar Excavators

• Experience with Sandvik drills advantageous 

• Proven ability to build a culture of care within the workforce

• Passionate and energetic, with the ability to influence and build relationships with a range of stakeholders

• Experience working within a budget and ability to forecast spend

• Strong organisational, analytical, verbal and writing skills

• Experience managing a team of tradespeople and subcontractors

• Experience with Contractor Management System

• Experience with the 1SAP system and or Friori highly regarded

• Key knowledge of defect resolution and continuous improvement
