We are looking for a motivated HSEQ Advisor to actively support Management in Health, Safety and Environment initiatives, and continue to drive a positive safety culture.

The HSEQ Advisor will be responsible for working closely with Industrial Services employees, including Painter/Blasters, to promote and ensure safe work practices across all our sites.

 Some of the main responsibilities of this position include; 

  • Advising sites of legislative requirements and changes
  • Administering incident reporting and actions as per company procedures
  • Assisting with management of injuries in liaison with the HR team
  • Auditing relevant information to ensure compliance to KPI's
  • Liaison with Clients HSEQ Representatives on project issues and system requirements
  • Actively analyzing HSEQ performance
  • Chairing toolbox meetings when required
  • Attending Client/Company HSE Committee meetings as required
  • Assisting with the coordination of training programs including the maintenance of competency standards
  • Conduction HSE inspections and audits including follow up on completed actions
  • Providing all necessary assistance to the company on HSE issues

To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in the Oil & Gas and/or Mining Industry.
  • Experience in an Advisory/Coordinator capacity.
  • Strong auditing and HSEQ systems skills.
  • Excellent communication and team work skills.
  • Positive and proactive approach to safety.
  • Proven experience in coaching and promoting safety behavioural programs.
  • Experience in INX, Intralogic and Chemwatch would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have experience in the relevant industry with a hands on approach to safety and an operational knowledge of tasks / duties carried out by workshop employees.

The ability to communicate assertively and effectively with Management, Trades employees and Client representatives and the ability to be influential and persuasive in dealings with others will ensure your success in this position.
