CHPP Process Technician - Electrical

 
Idemitsu Australia Resources (IAR) has been operating in Australia since 1978 and owns coal mining operations throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Our combined operations support more than 1,000 local jobs and produce nearly 12 million tonnes per annum of thermal, PCI and semi-soft coal for export.

Our Boggabri Coal Mine, located in Northern NSW is an open-cut coal operation which has been contributing to the community and regional economy since 2006. The mine currently produces 7 million tonnes per annum and has a mine life extending through until 2033.
 
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your key accountabilities will revolve around the following:

• The safe execution of CHPP operational & maintenance tasks;
• Compliance with company policies, procedures and site based requirements;
• Effective communication and consultation with your fellow employees, contractors and other stakeholders;
• Ensuring CHPP production schedules are achieved;
• Achieving a high level of availability & reliability of CHPP plant & equipment;
• A focus on minimising consumable usage & related spend in the drive towards lowest achievable unit cost per tonne.

 
For your application to be considered, you will possess the following

• Recent experience working in a Coal Handling Prep Plant (not essential) or an industrial electrical role desirable.
• Electrical Trade qualifications
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Basic to proficient computer skills as relevant including experience with Microsoft Office
• Literacy and numeracy skills for report writing
• General Coal Preparation Course (desirable)
• A current NSW Drivers Licence
• A commitment to safety, environment and achieving strict production targets
• An outstanding work ethic, team player attitude and strong cultural values
