Ernest Henry Mining (EHM) is seeking a Mining Engineer for a position within the Planning and Scheduling team of the Mine Technical Services Department. This role provides technical support to the MTS and Operational teams and is responsible for developing medium to long-term planning and scheduling activities that achieve mine targets.

Key accountabilities include:

• Develop and issue medium-term mine designs that maximise value and manage risk;
• Develop and coordinate medium to long-term schedules and designs including critical infrastructure projects;
• Communicate critical planning and scheduling requirements from Budget and medium-term mine designs with relevant MTS and Operational departments;
• Provide scheduling and planning support for LOM and Budget cycles;
• Identify, escalate and manage technical risks/opportunities.

The ideal applicant should possess:

• A strong ‘Safety First’ culture;
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in underground metalliferous mines;
• Strong communication, time management and people skills;
• Experience with mining software packages including Surpac, Deswik, 5D and EPS or similar.

This position is offered as a locally based role in Cloncurry (relocation assistance and local allowances provided), DIDO from Mount Isa, or FIFO from Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville, working an 8/6 roster.
