Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking trade qualified applicants for the position of Radio Technician to join the Electrical Reticulation section of the Mine Maintenance department. Reporting to the Supervisor – Electrical Maintenance, you will become part of a team working on both scheduled and unplanned maintenance tasks within the underground copper operations. This is a residential role based in Mount Isa, working a 4 on/4 off day/night shift roster. Additional hours may be required as per business needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Installation and maintenance of the Communications Systems to site and Australian Standards
• Working both independently and as part of a team whilst demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship
• Maintaining installation/maintenance records

You will have the following skill sets and attributes:

• Trade Qualification – Radio Technician/Restricted Electrician
• Current QLD manual driver’s licence
• Experience with Telephone, Optic Fibre, Radio RF/HF, Miri, PED, LAN networks and Impact Collision Avoidance systems, as well as bench work experience
• Knowledge of Ellipse or similar maintenance systems
• Proactive attitude towards safety and the ability to follow relevant processes and procedures
• Previous underground experience would be an advantage
