About the role
Reporting to the Manager Project Studies the role of Principal Project Engineer will see you work closely with the business across technical, operational, projects and finance to drive outcomes and assess a wide range of current and future opportunities for the organisation. You will be involved in new project assessment, expansion of existing operations and review of potential opportunities to further grow this company's portfolio.
About you
Coming from a dedicated mining background you will have 10+ years' experience working within the mining sector, ideally with coal exposure coupled with relevant qualifications in mining engineering. You will have a strong knowledge and understanding of mining operations, related mining software packages, capital projects and technical services. Key skills and experience will include but not limited to:
- Proven experience in similar roles at a senior level
- Working knowledge of mining software such as Vulcan, Deswick, etc.
- Financial understanding of budgets, financial modelling and project evaluation
- Strong reporting ability to provide detailed and accurate information to senior management
- Excellent communication skills to interact with various departments and consultancies
- Understanding of tenement management and applicable legislation
- Investment evaluation and ability to provide strategic support and guidance
- Ability to work autonomously, to defined targets and KPI's and also integrate with a positive, inclusive, innovative and progressive company culture
