H-E Parts International Crushing Solutions Pty Ltd is a major supplier of crushing and equipment, spare parts and wear products, remanufactured components and consumables to the global mining, quarrying and heavy construction industries throughout Australia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. A subsidiary of the H-E Parts International Group and part of  Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd, we have branches in WA, Queensland and NSW. 

Due to an internal restructure of our technical and purchasing divisions, and significant growth expected over the next three years, a vacancy exists for a Procurement Manager. This new position will oversee all aspects of procurement, purchasing, supply chain management, but with a strong focus on inventory management. 

The incumbent will join oversee a department of three employees and deal with both internal and external customers, domestically and internationally. 

With a focus on strengthening supplier relationships, working collaboratively with internal divisions, and commercialising the purchasing function, this role will require a proven background in procurement and inventory management in a comparable industry and demonstrated commercial acumen.  

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Develop, implement and manage the procurement strategies nationally for the business.
  • A working knowledge of safety principles and a commitment to working safely. 
  • Mentoring and management of purchasing team. 
  • Compliance to the company’s QA system. 
  • Monitor performance of department, developing KPIs and implementing strategies for improvement. 
  • Maintain excellent customer and supplier relationships and ensure timely, accurate and competitive pricing and availability information.    
  • Maintain a high level of market intelligence and bring innovative solutions to the department. 
  • Maintenance of stock levels and availability considering operational risk and working capital constraints.
  • Negotiation of supplier agreements.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with technical and sales colleagues to improve efficiencies and enhance customer satisfaction. 

Experience and Competencies required for this role:

  • Formal qualification in Procurement, Inventory Management or similar discipline.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working in a mining or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated people management experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Strong time management and work planning skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic and high pressure environment.
  • Willingness to work at all levels of the Procurement and Purchasing cycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of Pronto ERP.
