The Opportunity – Planning and Reliability Superintendent

Based on site, the purpose of this role is to provide leadership, expertise and direction to the Engineering Technical Support sub-function to ensure it effectively delivers required engineering technical expertise and support to the Operation in accordance with relevant processes, standards and performance targets.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Lead, influence and make decisions that improve regional performance within the regional lead team
• Define business strategies and organisational policies to enable the strategic coordination of multiple major projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of projects.
• Select, develop, coach and mentor employees- build experience and capability by creating meaningful development opportunities
• Support decision on changes and ensure change control practices are adopted
• Ensure that the teams know and highlight the material risks for their area and the associated critical controls and monitor compliance with critical controls.
• Ensure critical controls are in place for the identified material risks within the maintenance function
• Ensure continuous review of maintenance processes, using 1SAP and engage relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance
• Investigate reported events using 1SAP work management process and instigate improvements
• Take full accountability as the single point of contact for work management Master Data and its content quality
• Responsible for the development and validation of the maintenance budget based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies

• Diploma/ Advanced Diploma in an Engineering Field
• Frontline Management qualification (desired)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in developing, influencing and practising Work Management
• Planning experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in contractor management

Illawarra Coal operations are located in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
