A leading producer of CSG in Queensland, with growing reserves and new gas exploration interests around Australia, we are seeking the right candidate to become part of the team that’s meeting growing demand for energy, and searching for tomorrow’s energy solutions.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer top to take an influential role within Origin's APLNG Operations Team, which forms part of Integrated Gas. Based in Brisbane, the position is responsible for supporting the Reedy Creek, Combabula & Peat Asset in the following areas:
- Field Strategy and Performance: Maintain and improve process to optimise and maintain field performance
- Gas Availability: Maintain and improve availability through managing pumping and completion systems and Operating philosophy to minimise well downtime and maximise reliability
- Short Term Forecasting: Provide support to the reservoir, appraisal and development engineer producing the monthly forecast, identifying uplift opportunities, informing of operational issues and conducting well reviews
- Well Integrity: Maintaining well in conformance with well integrity standards
- Developed in-asset technical capabilities: in process safety, artificial lift types and design (progressive cavity and reciprocating rods pumps), and vertical, fracture stimulated and horizontal well design, operation and optimisation.

Is This You?
- Recognised Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering (or similar relevant discipline); combined with statutory certification to practice as engineer in Queensland (RPEQ / CPEng)
- Significant upstream oil / gas experience; demonstrating sound knowledge of the technical and commercial aspects required to act as subject matter expert of Production Engineering principles
- Experience selecting and optimising a range of artificial lift types or a solid background in reservoir engineering.
- Experience in monitoring large volumes of well data - to identify wells with deviations from target and that require action planning to minimise production supply losses
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with key members of a wide range of stakeholders - proven ability to influence outcomes through negotiation
- Experienced in assuming the leading and coaching role in a working team
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and motivation including the ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines
- Ability to work on many projects simultaneously
