Cook/Field Assistants
We are seeking experienced Cook/Field Assistants interested in registering for work on up and coming exploration field programme's
You will be responsible for cooking all meals for small to medium sized exploration camps with varying accommodation and kitchen facilities along with other Field Assistant duties that may be required during the day.
The Cook/Field Assistant primary function is catering meals every day, maintaining the camp, and may be asked to do some Field Assistant duties. General duties listed below but not limited to:
- Cooking hot/cold breakfast, lunch and dinners for small team in a camp environment.
- Ordering, stock control and menu planning
- In addition, may be required to clean rooms, ablutions and offices as required
- Town Runs for Sample drop off and Supplies pick up
- Assisting the Geologists in the field
- Camp Maintenance
To be successful in this role you will require:
- A minimum of 2 -5 years' experience in a cook/chef position
- Cook - Chef Qualifications (Highly desirable)
- Experience in a busy commercial kitchen environment
- Budgeting, ordering experience
- Experience in Field Assistant Duties (or willingness to learn)
- First Aid Certificate
- 4WD experience essential (Certificate highly desirable)
- Current Manual Driver's license
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical / drug & alcohol screen
Applicants should possess a mature work attitude, the ability to work in a team environment and have a willingness to work in remote locations. Good communication skills and an excellent attitude towards safety are essential. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the right to work in Australia.
