Capital Projects – Pinjarra Filtration Project

Integrated Managed Services (IMS) provides contractor management and project services to Alcoa across its Western Australian alumina refineries and mine sites.  We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Construction Co-ordinator to join the Capital Projects Team for a 6month requirement with potential for ongoing project work.

Role Description: 

This position will report to the Construction Lead and Client Project Manager, and is required to supervise and manage construction Contractors involved in executing the scope of work for the Pinjarra Filtration Project and the associated Work Pack portfolio.  The Construction Co-ordinator works to ensure the interface between construction Contractors, the Client Construction Team and where applicable the Engineering Service Provider is well defined and executed at all stages of the construction program.   

Responsibilities include the co-ordination of inspections to ensure mechanical construction work is performed according to approved plans, Client specifications, budget and schedule; inspect and report on installations and alterations of work to assure that approved materials are used and the quality of workmanship; directs and verifies corrections on items that are not in compliance; observes and validates tests of installations, equipment, and materials; ensures the Contractor(s) have all the necessary permits approved and in place to allow onsite work to proceed in accordance with Authority to Proceed documentation and Client EH&S requirements; co-ordinates the worksite access between Contractor(s) and operations and manages interface issues.

The successful candidate will require:

  • 5-10 years' construction industry project experience in similar supervisory position (preferable)
  • Cert IV in Frontline Management or Project Management (preferable)
  • Business and customer focus are critical
  • Computer skills are essential with Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Excel

Will suit candidates living in the Peel and Mandurah regions, involving daily commute to the work site location.
