Job tasks and responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Surveyor, the Mine Surveyor is responsible for assisting with the underground and surface mining operations, including surveying of designed drill holes, surveying of completed works and issuing accurate survey plans in a safe, effective and efficient manner.

The responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to;

  • Survey mark out of drill and blast rings, mine heading development, exploration drilling and raisebore drilling.
  • Survey of completed works including end of month development and ore stockpiles, stope surveys, mine heading development and geological mapping.
  • Creating survey plans and survey instructions, dig permits, emergency response plans and end of month surveys.
  • Display a clear commitment to safety and health, and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment.
  • Operate in accordance with and comply the Company's Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Skills and experience

  • Bachelor of Science (Mine and Engineering Surveying)
  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar role, experience working in an underground gold mine will be highly desirable
  • Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence (Manual)
  • Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Experience in field exploration programs
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work unsupervised as required
