Jiujiang Mining Australia Pty Ltd have been appointed by Cu-River to provide mining and exploration services to their Cairn Hill Operations in the Cooper Pedy region in South Australia.  Jiujiang Mining Australia is the Australian arm of the Jiujiang Group who are based in China and have an employee base of 18,000 people working across multiple industries including construction, ironworks and power generation.

The Cairn Hill mine site is situated 50km south of Coober Pedy and is a magnetite operation. This is a very exciting time to be joining Jiujiang Mining Australia, as we are currently in a growth phase with many new projects underway to support a mine expansion and new infrastructure. The operation has invested heavily into new machinery and equipment and are now looking for suitably skilled and experienced people to join the team. 

Please noted, this position will be on half of Cu-River and under Cu-River Headcount.

Duties are included as below,

Media:

The successful applicant should have 5 years' experience in mainstream media journalism (preferably print; with some radio and TV experience an advantage) and a good practical knowledge of social media and its applications. A network of media contacts in general South Australian media, and in national business/mining media, would be a distinct advantage.  Previous experience in the resources sector and a knowledge of the mining industry is desirable but not essential. Applications will also be considered from Public Relations practitioners with a proven track record in the resources sector.

Government:

The successful applicant must have a sound understanding of South Australian Government processes including the legislative process.  A network of first-hand contacts with South Australian Government and Opposition MPs, preferably at Ministerial and Shadow Ministerial levels, and their political advisers, would be a highly desirable advantage. The successful applicant will be required to implement an existing Government Relations strategy and amend it from time to time as political circumstances dictate.  He or she must have a keen interest in SA politics, particularly as they impact on state development and the mining sector.  Interests in the community and environment will also be an advantage
